Wix vs Squarespace for a cleaning business

Wix puts booking in its Core plan, at $29 a month billed yearly, while Squarespace books through Acuity Scheduling, a second subscription that comes to about $35 a month with its Basic plan, billed yearly. Wix is simpler to pay for, and Squarespace with Acuity lets customers book their own weekly or every-other-week visits.

Booking, side by side

Both are general website builders with good-looking templates, so for a cleaning business the difference is mostly booking: what it costs, and what a customer can book on their own.

Where Wix fits

Wix suits a business that wants one bill and mostly books one-off visits. Bookings come with the Core plan, card payments run through Wix Payments, and add-ons can change a service's price. Customers can't book recurring appointments themselves: you set those up for them, up to 12 at a time.

Where Squarespace fits

Squarespace with Acuity suits a business whose customers book their own regular visits: Acuity lets them choose every week or every other week when they book the first one. It's two subscriptions to pay for, and Acuity takes payments through its own connection to Stripe, Square or PayPal.

A third option, made for cleaning

If you'd rather not build booking out of add-ons, a Crewbee website comes with a quote form priced from your own list, by the size of the home and the extras (instant prices are on Grow and Pro). Customers choose weekly, every 2 weeks or monthly on the same quote, pay a deposit when they book, and their card is charged after each visit.

It's included from $15/month billed yearly, with the calendar and the cleaner app behind it. Already on Wix or Squarespace? Keep your site and paste the quote form into it.

Questions

Questions, answered

Is Wix or Squarespace better for a cleaning business?
Wix if you want booking inside one plan; Squarespace with Acuity if customers should book their own regular visits. Both handle the size of a home through add-ons rather than a price list.
Can customers book recurring cleaning on Wix?
Not on their own, as of October 2026. Wix lets you set up recurring appointments for a client, up to 12 at a time.
Do I have to leave Wix or Squarespace to use Crewbee?
No. Paste the quote form into a code block on your site, or use the website that comes with your plan.
