How much does a cleaning business website cost?

In its first year, a cleaning business website costs about $90 to $420 with a website builder, or $2,000 to $18,850 to have one built. The real difference is booking and payments: on most builders they mean a bigger plan or a second subscription, while a Crewbee website comes with a quote form, online approval and card payments from $15/month, billed yearly.

The first year, side by side

A page with your phone number on it is cheap almost anywhere. A site where a customer gets a price, picks a date and pays costs more, because that part is usually a second subscription or a developer's time. Here is what each way costs for a year, paying the cheapest way each one offers.

Website builders: cheap until you add booking

The two cheapest builders here cost less than a single cleaning a month, but neither takes a booking with payment: Pressless gives you a request form and Siimple links out to someone else's booking page. On Wix, bookings with card payments start at the Core plan. On Squarespace, booking means Acuity Scheduling, a second subscription with its own payment setup.

Freelancers and agencies: a project, then running costs

A freelancer or an agency builds the site once, and hosting, updates and any booking software are paid for after that. Project Cost Estimator puts a booking platform at $50 to $150 a month on top of the build, and every change to your prices or services goes back through whoever built it.

A website that comes with the software

Field-service apps such as Jobber include a website builder with their plans. With Crewbee, the website comes with every plan, along with the quote form, quotes customers approve online, card payments with no Crewbee fee, and the calendar and cleaner app behind them. Instant prices are on Grow. Each team member is $6 a month billed yearly, and you're always included.

What to check before you pay

Whichever way you choose, a few questions show what the first year will really cost.

  • Can a customer book a date and pay, or only send a request?
  • Is booking part of the plan, or a second subscription?
  • Can the price change with the size of the home and the extras?
  • What does it cost once your team is on it?
  • What happens to the site if you stop paying?

Questions

Questions, answered

How much does a cleaning business website cost?
About $90 to $420 a year with a website builder and its booking add-on, or $2,000 to $18,850 to have one built, then hosting on top. Booking and card payments usually need a bigger plan or a second subscription.
Is a cheap website builder enough for a cleaning business?
For a page people can call from, yes. If you want customers to see a price and book a date without phoning, check whether the plan takes bookings and payments: of the builders here, the ones at $10 a month or less don't.
What happens to my site if I stop paying?
Nothing is deleted. If a trial or a plan ends unpaid, your site stays up for a week's grace, then goes offline until you pick a plan, with everything you set up still there.
